About
The person behind the uptime.
I'm izatfairuz. I like the part of building software that most people never see — the server that has to keep running, the firewall rule that has to be right, the deploy that has to go smoothly at an inconvenient hour.
I got here the practical way: by setting things up myself, breaking them, reading the error message closely, and fixing it properly instead of papering over it. This site is a small example of that in practice — provisioned, configured, and deployed by hand on a Google Cloud VM.
How I work
Slowly and correctly, then fast once it's correct. I'd rather understand why something failed than just restart it.
What I care about
Systems that are boring in the best way — predictable, documented, and easy for someone else to pick up.
Currently
Expanding this server into a proper personal platform: a real domain, HTTPS, and more of my work written up.
Outside of work
Still figuring out the small details — right now that means getting a webpage to render exactly the way I picture it.
